This is thick clear plastic book tape for reinforcing the spine/cover or protecting exterior labels on a book. Unlike packing tape, it’s slightly flexible to move with the book. I also found while applying it that this tape could easily be re-positioned multiple times as I lined it up straight and even on the book spine before smoothing it down. After you smooth it down the glue seems to set more permanently. I don’t believe this is a kind of tape you would use to repair book pages. It’s for the cover/binding.I take care of my church’s library and the book shelf in our prayer chapel and I use a lot of this sort of tape to reinforce books which get handled a lot. This is one for our 24 hour Perpetual Adoration Chapel. I used scissors to trim the tape to the exact length of the spine. I centered the strip of tape on the book spine and this is where the ability to reposition the tape till you get it right is useful. Then I smoothed the spine down with my finger first, before pressing the tape down on either side. Easy.The quality of this is good. This is a small roll of tape however. If you just need to repair or reinforce a few books that may be okay with you. I do usually look for larger rolls.
